EV & Hybrid Specialists
Jupiter Garage in Sheffield has long been known as a reliable and trustworthy garage with a reputation built on personal recommendations. In response to increasing demand from our existing customers and from EV drivers across Sheffield, we are therefore delighted to introduce Jupiter Garage EV, a space dedicated to the repair and maintenance of electric and hybrid cars and vans.
It’s always been important to us to remain at the forefront of industry developments so that we can continue to provide our customers with the very best in workmanship no matter what vehicle they drive. As such, we’ve invested heavily in staff training and in kitting out our workshop on Smithy Wood Road in Sheffield. The workshop now has all the specialist tools and machinery that’s needed, such as rubber-tipped tools, for our team to work safely and so that the work that we do on your EV is in line with any manufacturer warranty restrictions on your vehicle.
Finding another garage in the Sheffield area with the same expertise and experience of working on electric and hybrid vehicles that we have at Jupiter Garage EV will be difficult.
How often you need to charge the battery very much depends on the make and model of your electric car and the battery size. Generally, most EVs can travel between about 200 and 350 miles on one charge, with some newer models going even further.
No, not at all. At Jupiter Garage EV we repair and service electric and hybrid vehicles of any age, and because we adhere to the manufacturer’s recommended specifications, if your vehicle is still under warranty, there’s no loss of warranty coverage at all. At Jupiter Garage EV, we deliver dealer-level repairs and servicing for your EV but at significantly lower prices.
Yes, just as with a standard fuel car, if your EV is three years old or older, it will need to pass an MOT test every year. The MOT test for electric cars is pretty much the same as the regular MOT but without the emissions or noise elements of the test.
Although electric cars can still be expensive to buy, once you’ve made that investment the actual running and upkeep of the vehicle should be cheaper than with a standard fuel vehicle.
A lot of people find that the easiest and most economical option is to have a charging point installed at home so that you can charge and top the battery up at your convenience. However, you can also find charging points at many public locations such as supermarket car parks, motorway service stations and public car parks. If you’re not sure where your nearest public charge point is, you should be able to locate it using the map below.
A DVSA-approved MOT testing centre and member of the Federation of Small Businesses, Jupiter Garage EV takes pride in providing customers with quality, professional work.
